He was a William R Kenan Jr. Directing Fellow at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington, DC where he developed new plays with local playwrights.
He has developed new plays with The Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, Burning Coal Theatre, Fordham University, The American Theatre Company, The Source Festival, The Shakespeare Theatre Company and the Folger Theatre.
Augustus served as an Assistant Director for the Shakespeare Theatre Company from 2012-2014, where he assistant directed over a dozen productions and directed multiple readings.
He trained as a director with Gerald Freedman at the North Carolina School of the Arts.
Augustus is a fifth generation San Franciscan and lives in Brooklyn.
