Augustus “gus” Heagerty is a director, writer, and performer. He is the founding director of i am a slow tide, a performance and media collection based in brooklyn. he directed the company’s innaugural performance, Brief chronicle, books 6-8 by alex borinsky, which earned a critic’s pick from time out ny.

He has developed new works at Brooklyn Arts Exchange, the New Ohio Theater, Judson Memorial Church and the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts.

He was a William r kenan jr. directing fellow at the kennedy center.

Augustus went to college at the north carolina school of the arts. His first AOL screen name was BritneySpears2000.
